How we collect, use, retain, and protect your personal information.

BetMetrics is an Ontario-based odds-comparison platform. We collect the minimum information needed to operate the site, settle Fantasy BetBucks bets, and prevent abuse. We never sell your data, never share it with sportsbooks, and never use it for retargeting ads.
You can request a copy or deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@betmetrics.ca.
When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address, a password hash, and an optional username. We do not see or store your password directly.
We store the bets you place in our Fantasy Sportsbook (game picks, odds, stake amount in virtual BetBucks, settlement result) so we can calculate your weekly leaderboard standing. This is play-money activity only — no real-money transactions occur.
If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address separately from your account email. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email or by visiting betmetrics.ca/unsubscribe.
If you opt in to push notifications, your browser registers a subscription endpoint with our backend. We use it to deliver bet-settlement and breaking-news pushes. You can revoke this subscription in your browser settings at any time.
We log your IP address and request timestamps temporarily to rate-limit chat, bet placement, and form submissions. This data is not retained beyond what is operationally necessary.
We use a small set of cookies for authentication (Clerk session cookie), theme preference (light/dark), and CSRF protection. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or behavioural-tracking cookies.

Outbound links to sportsbooks (DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, etc.) are marked rel="nofollow". When you click an outbound sportsbook link, you leave BetMetrics and the sportsbook's own privacy policy applies. We may receive an anonymous affiliate referral confirmation (no personal data).
Account data: until you delete your account or request erasure.
Fantasy BetBucks history: rolling 12 months for leaderboard archives, then aggregated and anonymized.
Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe.
Rate-limit / abuse logs: 30 days.
Server access logs: 14 days, except where required for security incident investigation.
